Paralleles Desktop

Hi,
New to Mac here. I am using Parallels Desktop 10.2.2 with Yosemite and everything has been working fine on my iMac 27" Retina.
El Capitan will be out soon and I would like to update to it.
Will my version of Parallels be okay with it or do I have to also update to the new Parallels Desktop 11 which does state it supports El Cap.
I just can't find anything that says whether my PD 10.2.2 does?

According to the Parallels website, you need the very latest 10 release or Parallels 11. I have been running Parallels 11 and all has been well thus far.

Are you using PD 10.2.2 to access a bootcamp partition? If so, it cannot find the partition unless System Integrity Protection ("rootless") is disabled. Otherwise you'll need to upgrade to version 11.

Nope, I'm just running the regular VM.
However, I did just get a response from Parallels support and they said that PD 11 is all set for the El Cap update but that they won't know if my version (10.2.2) will be ok until Apple officially releases El Cap. Kinda weird but okay, I'll just wait then.

Parallels is trying to sell you an upgrade every year. In fact one of their new pricing models is a yearly subscription model. I am running El Capitan GM. I can run Windows 10 (dev preview) in Parallels 9 (August 2014 rev). That is not to say there may not be stability or speed issues under Parallels 9 vs. the latest Parallels 11, but in my case I am running the VM off of a firewire disk, so it is slow anyhow. If you already have Parallels 9, try it before you leap to pay them for an upgrade.
