I have recently purchased a SR MBP and was planning to install parallels 3.0. Just wanted to see if anyone has been able to install the OEM version of Windows XP. The parallels website states that there may be a problem in using an OEM version. Was wondering whether I should just spend more money and buy a retail version instead???? Unfortunately the latter is much more expensive here in the UK.

not 100% certain in respect xp home and its use with virtualisation so I would say get xp pro first. But otherwise a new oem is exactly the same as a standard retail disk except theres no manuals and theres some differences in the t&c's - basically that its restricted to one computer (the motherboard is the basis of the pc) and cannot be installed on another one even if the original intended pc dies (hardware failure is a grey area).

Just buy xp pro oem, you will be fine.

If I install bootcamp first and then use parallels to run the bootcamp vm, would I need to re-activate windows and will I still need 2 keys?
Thanks.....
