if I upgrade parallels to 15 do I need to reinstall Windows 10 to work with Catalina?
Also Will everything work still with iTunes (music iPod etc) in Catalina?

1) You can safely upgrade to the latest version of Parallels. Your Windows installation will stay the same (whether in a file, or on a Bootcamp partition), but will update Parallels Tools.

2) Replacing iTunes with Music is one of the best things in Catalina. It just works. Your iOS devices are no longer handled via Music, but rather via the Finder.

I have Parallels 15.1.0, the latest and installed Catalina earlier this afternoon. No issues, Windows 10 is still here and all is working just fine.

Sorry for the Off topic question, I'm a recent Windows to Mac convert and I am wondering, I converted to Mac because I was sick of Windows and wanted nothing to do with Microsoft anymore, as a Mac user, what makes you wanna use Parallels or anything from Windows?

because some software I use for my business is only available for Windows.....and for some reason, Windows 10 runs without any issues in Parallel, never had any problems with Windows 10 and Windows 7 before that.

ok thanks

on Itunes, is still possible to get albums? I've not been able to buy everything I want and have a wishlist. Will this expire? I don't have the funds to get the many ones I want at the moment.

Music has the asme functionality as iTunes - it is just Music now, and you do not sync iOS devices via iTunes anymore...

I have no iOS devices anyway so I only have the iPod Classic 160 GB; iPod Nano 2GB which will need iTunes to be managed. Unless I am mistaken because I thought the iOS devices were all touch like the ipod touch.

A question on future proofing. So music will handle everything purchased through iTunes that needs to be authorized.? Which I assume can't work with my iPod Classic or Nano as a player then I should get something else? I hate the phones as music players and want to use my iPods until they die like my 1st Gen Shuffle.

Your iPos also run iOS... albeit an old version. And, the iPods do show up in Finder in Catalina, and you sync as normally, using the Finder. One thing though, you may need to reset the iPod Classic - some people have had issues with syncing until they did that...

ah okay. I'll wait until I can get a secure connection to upgrade then. I don't have my own internet at the moment. might have to risk not upgrading parallels for awhile when I do upgrade.
