is there any way to list to your iTunes library while in Windows? without having just bring all my songs over because that would use the whole partition

thanks

If you install something that lets Windows read your HFS+ partition, such as MacDrive, then you should be able to add the songs to your iTunes:Windows Library. I think. You won't be able to copy your other library data over (playcount, star rating, etc.) because I think the formats are different.

Well.......... that would be if you're using Boot Camp. If you're using Parallels, I think you can just create a share folder or something? I haven't used Parallels lately so I can't remember.

Right, Parallels can create a "Parallels Shared Folders" on the Windows desktop, giving it access to the OS X file system.

Why not just use iTunes in OS X to play music in the background whilst in Parallels?

Wow -- you're patient. :) I tried Parallels with 1GB on my Mac mini and gave up 15 minutes later. heh

Have you set the preference in your Windows iTunes to NOT "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library?" If that's off, I can't think of any reason why Windows iTunes would copy the music from OS X over to Windows.

Why not share the music on your Mac iTunes and play/control them on your Windows virtual machine? Works fine here, only using Fusion though.

Just play your tunes from the mac side and continue working virtually on the windows side. Paralles + Virtue = Heaven.

He doesn't have enough RAM to have iTunes going in OS X while running Parallels at the same time.
