Just released. http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/beta_testing/

This beta does not introduce any new functionality, but provides several very important fixes to the problems found in previous Betas:

* Coherence now handles “round” windows like Windows Media Player or Winamp correctly.

* Fullscreen and Coherence mode on secondary monitor fixed.

* Guest pixel size calculation was fixed – applications like MS Access or MS PowerPoint should handle graphs correctly.

* Guest Linux screen resolutions in 24 bit mode fixed.

* Possiblity to switch off Command+ZXCV mapping or swap Control and Command keys introduced (the feature was requested by a number of beta-testers)

* Several USB 2.0 fixes – more bulk devices to work since now. The work on web cameras and other isochronous devices is still in progress.

* And many others…

With the previous beta 2 it was unable to use my Boot Camp partition for some reason. With this new beta it recognized it, but I still got errors. :( On the first run of the VM it complained about "a computer disk hardware configuration problem", and when I tried to run it again it complained it "cannot find necessary drivers to configure your Boot Camp partition."

I upgraded a few hours ago. Not having the little pieces show on the edges of apps is *so* nice. Works great!

Screenshot please (I deleted it while I still have this tiny HD)

Parallels Desktop for Mac is the only solution that automatically takes full advantage of Intel Core Duo Virtualization Technology which allows you to run Windows and its applications at full speed.

From http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/

VMWare won't be happy.

I have it too and love it. Quicken 2007 works properly now. I just wish my USB memory key did.

BTW, what is Coherence Mode? I tried it and it put a full screen start bar on my desktop and I couldnt' get back to window mode.

NEW! Full-feature virtual CD/DVD drive - Burn CDs and DVDs directly in virtual machines, and play any copy-protected CD or DVD just like you would on a real PC ...I really needed this one!!! :)

FYI I found a solution to both of my problems on the Parallels forums—link: Can't install Tools for Boot Camp—which allowed Windows to start booting, however now I get a blue error screen. Maybe I'll never be able to run Windows XP virtualized. :(

very nice

how does media center run in parallels? i know parallels can show videos, but media center uses some overlays. i would be very interesting to have media center running smoothly inside parallels on a mac.

I had a problem (non-boot-camp, just normal VM install) with a pre-existing machine with this build - when I launch the machine, it's all black (can't see anything in other words). If I launch in safe mode it displays, but not in normal mode.

The machine works fine in build 3036. Any ideas?

Not sure, I will give it a shot in a day or so when I get my new ram, I ordered 2GB for my comp, its just so slow on 1GB.

I had the same thing as you did.
While in Safe Mode, install the new Parallels Tools. This worked for me.

Thanks for tipping me on the Safe Mode use. I used it often at work, but somehow, it did not occur to me to use it from inside Parallels.

Cheers!
