Hi

I am looking to get a mac mini. If I was to get the Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz with 2Gbs of RAM how would it perform with Parallels Desktop? Please share any thoughts or experiences with your own macs, thanks.

Main thing, will it run smoothly? :p

I don't run Parallels, I run Fusion on my 2G mini. I have Vista loaded in a VM and I give it 1GB of RAM - leaving 1GB for OS X. It's passable, but not speedy by any means. If I had a C2D machine like you (alas mine's just a CD) I'd up the RAM to 4GB (even though it'll only use 3) and give 1.5GB to Fusion and 1.5GB to OS X...I'm sure that would make a big difference in Vista's performance.

Or just wait until the middle of the year and get Windows 7 that is supposed to be Vista with the ability to run better then XP on 1GB of RAM.

I have a 2.0Ghz C2D MacMini with 2.5Gb Ram and i run windows vista ultimate in VMWare Fusion 2.1 with 1Gb ram and its really speedy

I had parallels but got a refund for it(didn't like it at all) and went vmware instead..
