Parallels Desktop sound problem

I have a fairly odd audio issue while running XP with Parallels desktop. The sound, well, usually doesn't work. It often plays the log out chime, and sometimes the log in one, but the sound rarely works. I've done a lot of googling, tried stuff like uninstalling the sound driver and then reinstalling Parallels Tools, but it just won't work properly. It's very rare that it does.


Anyone who can help?

what does the hardware manager say? What version of Parallels are you using?

Did you try to reinstall Parallels from scratch? Did this problem appear from the beginning or in some time after already using Parallels?

Appeared at the beginning, yes, I reinstalled, etc.


I just converted the crap and switched over to WMWare Fusion, which works.
