Hi,

I need someone with knowledge of VMWare Fusion and Parallels.

I used Parallels a couple of days ago, and found it sluggish when running a simple Visual Studio 2005 DirectX game I had made. It was sluggish enough to make we want to try a different tool..... so I went over to Fusion and found it ran XP much better! However, even with 3D Acceleration enabled, the same games will not build using Visual Studio, or game exe's I have built on my PC and copied over have crashed before starting.

I was under the impression that Fusion actually had better support for 3D graphics etc, so is there something I am missing or doing wrong. It's quite important I get this working, so any help or suggestions would be great!

I am using a new Macbook with 2GB RAM.

Many thanks! :)

I know that the graphics can handle it, because using Parallels the games built and played, just not very fast. Having seen the massive improvement between Parallels and Fusion on the same Macbook, I expected the 'Fusion' versions to run really well, however, they won't build because of 'some exception problems'. It's not the games, and it's not the hardware - its something I haven't got right or something Fusion isn't doing right.

And seeing that Fusion handles DirectX 9 and Parallels doesn't suggests to me that Fusion shouldn't have this problem building my games or using my hardware correctly.

If anyone does know of a solution, please do say! :)

iv actually found that compiled exe's from my XP PC do run on Fusion, they just don't compile through Visual Studio, because of this problem mentioned above... so thats the only problem now... compiling....
