I have just set up my 8yo daughter’s iPad, created an Apple ID for her and set up the parent controls on my iPhone. The controls for screen time etc seems great, but… there is weird behaviour when you add another parent…

So I added my Wife so she can also track usage, accept/deny requests and so on. So far so good. BUT.. My wife can also set different DownTime time to me, which is weird as you could easily have conflicting times - this makes no sense?

The only time it would make sense is if the parents were separated so one parent might allow less/more time than another, but a) that’s not our situation and b) there’s no way my daughters iPad would know which rule to use.

Has anyone come across this? It seems odd that both parents can have unique settings.

I think that means that both parents would need to "be on the same page" in regards to changing settings.
So, if you see a need to change a particular setting, talk to your wife, let her know. She may have a different idea about this, which would make this something that you two would need to discuss (I'm guessing...)

Yeah that totally makes sense. It’s just odd it’s not one setting imo.

We synced it anyway, but thought I’d ask :)
