Parked Car Indicator

Hey guys!

So I drove a car with CarPlay the other day and I loved the fact that it marked where my car was parked in Maps afterwards. My car doesn't have CarPlay, but is there another way to automatically get this "Parked Location" indicator in Maps without using CarPlay or Bluetooth?

I believe connected via Bluetooth will trigger - I use CarPlay a lot but I think it shows up as parked even when i don't

How would iOS know you parked your car if you are not connected via CarPlay or Bluetooth. I don’t have CarPlay but maps always marks where I park it via Bluetooth.

With the Motion coprocessor? Do Not Disturb While Driving can automatically activate based on when it detects I'm driving...

Yeah there's even a setting in Do Not Disturb (might be new in 12? Not sure, don't use DnD) that says "Active: Automatically (based on motion) | When connected to car bluetooth | Manually)". It would seem to make sense to have the same setting for Parked notifications. Without it, I'm guessing the thought is that any vehicle you're in without being connected to the BT probably isn't yours. Just a guess on the logic.

Easy to design when you are above a certain speed that DND should activate, more difficult when below a certain speed, it would be logging you as parked at every set of lights you stop at...

This is correct, and the exact reason you have to be connected to bluetooth. Imagine taking an uber/lyft and getting parked car notifications.
