Hey all, I'm finding the parked car feature is working just fine for me but when working I use another vehicle that connects to my phone via Bluetooth. When I leave that vehicle at the end of the working group day it then marks THAT vehicle's location and as far as I'm aware overwrites my own vehicle location.

Now, while that's not a huge issue on my own work's car park it could be a problem sometime. Is it worth submitting an enhancement request via Feedback Assistant to maybe be able to set a "preferred" Bluetooth device for use for the parked vehicle feature? Is this the sort of thing Apple would take notice of during a beta program?

Are you a developer, AppleSeed or public? If public your Feedback goes into aggregate so you would need a lot more people to make the same ER.

I say anytime you have an idea you should submit the idea. Don't get upset if nothing comes of it or you don't hear back but enhancements are always good things to submit.

Now that you mention it, it would be nice to be asked which car I'm leaving so that I can mark my car versus another car. Say I leave my car in a large lot at the airport, rent a car that I connect to during the trip. When I get back home there is a good chance the phone will tell me about the car I left behind in the other city versus the car I left at my home airport. I say submit and see what happens, it is indeed something that could be made even better.

So do you open up Maps to find it?

I have an aftermarket car stereo and this feature doesn't work for me nor the getting in/out of the car reminders. I can't think of anything else but the device's bluetooth name which is 'JVC Unit' and not some car brand name. It seems my stereo is considered as a regular bluetooth speaker eventhough making calls, searching through the phonebook in the stereo works. Would be great to have these features.

Feel free... I thought of this a few weeks ago and posted here and logged it as an enhancement request with Apple. I suggested that any bluetooth device should be able to be flagged as "My Car" via settings -> bluetooth -> (i) next to device -> new switch that says "This device is My Car".

That way it would be more flexible and work with any bluetooth device, especially aftermarket ones.

Edit: The reference code for my submission to Apple is 27300600

As the phone disconnects from your handsfree the phone marks your vehicles location. Simples

I can't get it to work. Frequent Locations is enabled under location services.

When I open Maps and mark my location, it doesn't show my parked location.

Am I doing something wrong? And yes my iPhone is connected to my cars Bluetooth.

Without a mechanism to tell your phone that a bluetooth device IS your car, then it has to use some guesswork that Apple has coded in. Now this could be a list of standard names of bluetooth devices that are fitted to cars, or a list of device ID prefixes that are used by cars. Unless the method they use covers EVERY manufacturer, it's going to be flawed.

Much better to let the user designate the device, like I suggested in my enhancement request.
