Part of iphone screen frozen

The bottom slider on my iphone will not work. Phone will turn on/off, switch vibrate/ring, rings and gets e-mail. I have tried all the tips at apple support.

You tried a restore? If so, I would schedule and appointment at the Apple Store.

What version is your iphone? I had a 2g that did the same thing. And even though it was out of warranty, Apple replaced it for free. There was a recall on some 2g iphones for this screen problem. Nothing you can do to fix. It will have to be replaced. But they did it with no questions. Just make an appointment at the Genius Bar.
