I'd like to part out my MacPro 1,1 the socket for processor A is done ..you guys know any good places to do that?

Chris

I saw some days ago someone parting out his mp 4,1 on ebay because of a broken backplane board. He got 360 EUR for ALL parts (in 5 different auctions)!! From a buyers perspective a nobrainer, from the sellers perspective no good deal. You may take this in consideration. Maybe, you can get more bucks for the whole package.

If that is all they got for parting it out, then they did not price it well. Parting something out, like an older Mac Pro or PowerMac, can be better financially for the seller.

My PowerMac (2005) went for $500 whole but if I parted it, I could have gotten much more. It worked and I did not want to see it parted.

I was trying to avoid ebay, but that looks like what will have to happen. I was hoping there was a forum or somthing.

well there is a forum here on MR, but you don't meet the requirements to view it, heck, I don't meet the requirements :)

Im pretty sure its just 250 posts or so away... I think at least, might be 500, but IIRC its just 250... Its a nice place, but they had to put the barrier there so it didnt turn into a massively untrustworthy mess I reckon.

I'm sure, and thats reasonable..I'm just not an ebay guy so I always look for alternatives first.
