I tried used ipartion on my macbook air to re partion my apple tv drive but it keeps crashing the program and when i try to do it thru the terminal it tell me hard drive in use. so i am wondering if there is a way i can partion the drive on a pc but keep everything mac on the hard drive so it will continue to work on the mac???

You cannot partition apple tv drive remotely.
No you don't partition mac drives on pc.
