I have two questions regarding choices one has to make when making partitions in Bootcamp

1. Why do many here seem to opt for Fat32 over NTFS? What are the advantages of Fat32? NTFS has the advantage of being a journaling fs.

2. What size of partition does XP Pro prefer? I mean, what percentage of space does it like to have free and any other kinds of things that make it happier with a certain amount of available HD space?

you can write to FAT32 under OSX, not so with NTFS

I think my XP install was 3ish gb. maybe 2.5.

Ahh that's sounds like it could be a very important reason. I wish Apple's instruction manual for Bootcamp mentioned it.

However, I must say that right now I cannot think of a particular reason why Id want to write into the PC partion. What kinds of reasons are there?
