Is it a good idea to partition a hard drive for running os x 10.3.9?(panther) Right now I have a 25gb partition for the system programs, and the rest (about 250gb) for video, and other files. Or should I just make it all one big drive?
One of the great reasons to create multiple partitons and install the OS on one partiton is that if you're enduring problems, or want to upgrade you can simply erase that partiton without having to backup your data files which are placed on the other partition.
Ok, well I now have an 80gb hard drive for the system. And a 300gb drive for video. I am using Mac OS X (journalled) file system. Does that sound ok? I can still change it since I don't have any important data yet.
