I have 1x500gb hard drive.

It is currently partitioned in 2.

Partition1: 250gb for OS
Partition2: 250gb for files/music/etc

I'm wondering can I partition 'Partition1' Lets say by half so 125gb/125gb.

Ans keep OS ON 125GB but add the other 125 partition to Partition 2 to create 375gb?

You can add a third partition, resizing Partition 1 to 125Gb and creating the third partition as 125Gb.

Not sure about your second question.

I assume this is an SSD? If not, just stick a 1Tb drive in and then you won't have to mess around so much.

No, its the 500gb HD came with it.

I might buy a 1tb soon actually.

How difficult is it change Late 2011 MBP hard drive?
I've done it countless times on Windows machines, just not with a Mac.

Also are hybrid drives any use?
