iPhone 8/Plus Passcode option not available

I've restored my iPhone 8 plus with the latest iOS and I forgot both my iCloud login details and the passcode option is not available after two attempts. I can't get into the phone. Will the passcode option become available again after a certain amount of time? I tried an hour later still not available...

The passcode option should not disappear after two attempts. It only disappears if one has tried more than 10 times. When that happens, it goes into time restricted mode.

How do you forget your Apple ID password so easily? Next time write it down in a secure fashion.

Yes I have forgotten it unfortunately. Will the option for passcode come back?

Looks like something has gone wrong. Try another restore.

I am afraid you are screwed. My Apple devices ask me to punch in the passcode every once in a while to use FaceID. Kinda hard to forget, but it does happen.
