What with my increasing memberships of on-line groups/shopping etc, I'm losing track and finding it hard to remember what all my username and passwords are.

I'd like some secure handy little application where I can store all my username and passwords on my iBook without having to worry about them becoming known should my iBook get lost or stolen. More important I'm looking for freeware.

Could anybody please suggest anything or any handy hints on what you do to store your sensitive login details.

Many thanks

Use Safari and make sure your iBook isn't set to Automatic Login (System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Options [you'll need to click on the lock]) and set it to ask for your password when waking from sleep (Sys Prefs -> Security)

Try Keychain Access which is bundled with OSX - it should be in Applications>Utilities. It sounds like this does what you need

You can create accounts, URLs etc and store passwords which are hidden until you type in the Keychain password so as long as you don't forget that you're fine. :)

Thanks very much, that's just what I need and right under my nose too! I'm pretty new to the Mac world, but loving every minute of it.
