Thanks for the reco but it seems from the reviews that this latest version is bugged somehow- also $10+ 40 for the desktop software is kinda OP.

Any other recommendations?

1Password. It's worth every single penny. Especially the desktop app.

Reviews are sometimes misleading. 1Password works great and I've not had any issues. Works well w/iPhone, iPad and desktop. Sync is seamless and the Dropbox addition is great.

They often have sales, look for those and it will help. I jumped on the 1/2 off sale for the desktop since I already had the mobile App.
