PASSWORD LOCKOUT

RUNNING SONOMA 14.5 ON A 2019 MACBOOK PRO WITH INTEL SILICON.
WHEN I CHANGED SYSTEM PASSWORD, LOCKED ME OUT.
HAD TO USE INTERNET RECOVERY, GOT BACK IN AND LOCKED OUT AGAIN WHEN IT WENT TO SLEEP.
ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE?

B., I do not understand: I got almost the same machine + 14.5, but I was told NEVER to change
any other password than mine or my wife's. Moreover, I can't find the system password, or it must be the root's.
Correct?

Can’t verify if it turned on caps, I did open word to ensure my keyboard was not entering caps while attempting to get it to let me in.

After having to recover and reset my user password three times, IT told me to take my password off the Mac. I am running open.

Yes, however they only support windows machines. I am on Mac and not under state OTS control because I am a remote employee.

My dept has its own IT support which is also not Mac savvy.
