w0lf macrumors 65816 Feb 16, 2013 1,268 109 USA Jun 18, 2015 #2 Open Disk Utility File > New Blank Image format > read/write encryption > anything other than none Move folder/contents into new image and delete original folder (if you copied instead of moved) Eject Image Enjoy your security, this process is the same for older versions of OSX. One more question, The first image I created did not have sufficient space... how do I delete this ' Apple read/write Media' image and put it back in to the Macintosh HD ? Click to expand... Eject the mounted volume with finder, then delete the dmg.
