I own an iMac and my family uses my computer all the time. Its kind of the family computer but also my work PC. My apple ID is hooked up to it and of course messages. I actually love the new feature of the app but would like to password protect it. I dont really like my children seeing every text message I get in life!

Is there an app or way to password protect an app or better yet, messages?

Set up a separate user account for each user. Then they will only see things related to their own account.

Best to set your children's account as a normal user not an administrator too. This will prevent them from installing anything nasty or deleting important system files.

You might also want to set up some parental controls.
