i thought i had a good screen until i moved it into a room where the glossy screen doesnt reflect too bad. then i noticed the gradient (argh). i already installed a few apps and made some videos...but i still want to return it because the gradient really showed while i was working on a few photoshop and flash projects. is it too late to turn it in after the 14 day mark? its a week 20 and i thought i was in the clear but nooooooo. should i get the applecare then call? or should i just call? its a 3.06 model. 24" . sigh :(

I had my 1st unit replaced for the exact same problem after more than 3 weeks from the date of purchase having them classifying it as a DOA. Now i'm on my 3rd iMac and it still has the gradient problem but not as bad as the 1st unit (maybe i got used to it).The 2nd unit had condensation problems and the slight gradient was well so it had to go back too. If it is barely noticeable, i suggest that u live with it coz u may end up with a much worse gradient or with dead/stuck pixels for that matter.

Good luck!
