Wondering if anyone can help me with my AppleTV and Patchstick.

I downloaded Patchstick and copied it to a USB Thumbdrive by doing the following:

1. First I erased the USB Drive and partitioned it using DiskUtil and made sure I chose GUID table.

2. I unmounted the volume.

3. I used the dd command to copy the image to the thumbdrive successfully.

When I plug it into the AppleTV and hold down Menu and '-' it boots from the USB drive but fails to install a number of components. It does successfully install the quicktime component though?!?!

Can anyone tell me why this may be happening or how I could resolve this?

Have you already updated your AppleTV with the YouTube update? If so, maybe the script was designed for the old version of the AppleTV? Does it at least install SSH so you can remotely get into the box and do stuff?

Thanks for your reply. I just realised that it was actually installing ssh but failing to install everything else, which is OK cos I SSH'd on to it and installed the AwkwardTV plugin.

I have not applied the latest AppleTV 1.1 Update yet.

One problem I am having though. When I try to install the plugins via the Awkward TV plugin it says the SetupHelper was not running with adequate privileges to perform the operation, try re-running patchstick.

Upon rerunning patchstick I still get the same problem. Any ideas?

Ssh

I think I'm in the same boat you were. How does one use SSH to install the Awkward TV plugin? I've never used SSH before.
