Does anyone know if its possible to go to an ATT store and pay off the remaining balance of an iPhone in store, or does it need to be done though the monthly bill? Thanks.
you can pay off online or in the store
You can payoff the entire balance at anytime. Just go into an AT&T store and they can accomplish this for you.
If you only want to payoff the 12 or 18 month balance so you can trade in your phone for another phone using NEXT, you must wait 2 billing cycles.
Thought about paying mine off early, but it doesn't save any money, so I'll just pay it off whenever I want to sell it for the next upgrade. Might as well keep the money and invest it now.
I wanted to buy an unlocked Tmo version but since the apple site was down i went with NEXT. I decided i would pay for the phone outright which is why i plan to go to ATT and pay off as soon as i get it.
Don't forget you can then get it unlocked by AT&T after you pay it off.
That's why I invest in mutual funds and get at least around 8%.Invest? Even sitting in a bank acct. the interest is SO anemic

You can. Just after 2 billing cycles.
i was told over the phone you can pay it off asap. but not sure if that rep knew for sure. however cant imagine att not taking your money early.
What's the service charge and the MM charges? And how can you avoid them? With the service charge the MM charges, trust me, you'r not getting anywhere near 8% return.

See this thread don't think you have to wait to pay off balance, that's only to trade-in.

I called AT&T today and they said you can pay it off anytime you wanted and no trade it in. After that my wife found a link on AT&T's website to pay it off also.
Do you know where that link is or how to navigate to it.
Also did your upgrade eligibilty open up after you paid it.
What about paying a partial amount? If I still owe 400 on one of my next, can I put 200 towards that balance and just owe 200, and get my monthly payment reduce?
No. Just full payment. What about paying a partial amount? If I still owe 400 on one of my next, can I put 200 towards that balance and just owe 200, and get my monthly payment reduce?
