The paypal app was recently updated to give push notifications for various events like receiving money.

I noticed in the description that push notifications will NOT work on a JB'd phone.
Anyone else see that? Comments?

I bet their reasoning is security regarding your finances.

Hmm, where exactly did you read that? I am very curious to know if they implemented some type of JB detector (Highly doubt it).

The Description I found does't say anything:
What's new in version 3.0
• Receive notifications instantly on your iPhone for account activity updates, including sending or receiving money, making a purchase, or requesting money
• Control the length of time you remain logged into the application
• With our new help center, you’re just a tap away from FAQ’s and customer service contact info
• Don’t have a PayPal account? Signup is fast and easy, right from the app
• Use the PayPal local feature to find businesses nearby that accept PayPal and Bling tags

I saw that too when I updated the app. It reminded me of when the skype app used to say it would not work on jailbroken phones (but it did).

Huh, probably trying to discourage jailbreaking to minimize any risk of having personal information shared unwillingly? I personally don't see much of a risk though.

im glad it works. im also glad others saw the message about not working on a jailbroken phone as it seems now that the line is omitted (at least when viewing thru itunes link in a browser). I updated direectly on the phone via the app store app. i saw it in the descripton there.

I just wondered what business is it of theirs really whether or not our handset is jail broken.
