I believe I would rather use Pay than PayPal. I have never been impressed with or liked Paypal, even though I have had to use it on several occasions.

Agreed. Don't like its tie to eBay. Prefer something more secure.

I have stopped using PayPal a while ago! This service gives me the creeps since it's data is not secured in transition!

PayPal is awesome. Well established, safe, the best. If I had to choose between the two, PayPal is my answer.

Jealousy and fear. PayPal is jealous and afraid. Otherwise, there would be no reason to pre-emptively attack Apple Pay.

But I've used PayPal on occasion. It's OK, but mostly because a few online stores use it as the preferred method of payment (ahem, eBay). Otherwise, I wouldn't even be using PayPal whatsoever.

Once Apple Pay gains the ability to pay online transactions (rather than just the NFC chip on mobile phones), then bye-bye PayPal.

With huge banks and credit companies (MasterCard, VISA, Amex) already supporting Apple Pay…. PayPal should be very concerned about its future.

Paypal automatically sides with the buyer and puts the seller in the "guilty until proven innocent" predicament. They make it entirely too easy to scam someone and even if you do follow their guidelines, sometimes it seems almost impossible to get ahold of someone. Some times it feels as if even though you provide all the correct information, you just sit and wait for them to make a ruling. I've had them still rule in the buyer's favor when I provided proof that an item was delivered and signed for and had to find a number to actually call someone to get it straightened out, which in itself was a feat. Paypal is a horrible company.

I agree with all of your points but I would also add that PayPal has moved beyond just credit based payment methods and is now supporting no transaction fees the funds are withdrawn directly from a bank account. I wonder if Apple will follow suit and try to bypass the credit card companies as well.
