So my first mac is finally here and I love it. I'm still getting used to the keyboard though lol.

So I can't see those dreaded horizontal lines so im a happy dog. On to my question: Can anyone link me or tell me how to transfer my files from a Windows box onto here?

Thanks in advance.

congrats on the switch, you're gonna love it even more as time goes by and really realize the "cult of mac" (hahahaha). But seriously, what are you trying to bring over from you windows machine? is it on an external hard drive? a computer? what kind of files?
if its just music you shouldn't have any problems just bringing the files over; sorry I don't have a link.

Music, photos, videos, papers and such.

Thanks for the links, khisayruou!

EDIT: I forgot to say how I'm impressed on how it actually "just works" I mean. I grabbed the ethernet cable from the back of my PC plugged it into the lappy and BAM! I'm online.

Already lovin' it :D

get yourself a cheap linksys wireless router. They go for arround 30$ and you will have internet in the whole house on your PB. I did for my iBook and its a 30$ well spent!

Browsing Mac Rumors on the couch is one of my daily tasks ;)

You can put both computers in a home network through a router if you have one and share the folder or root folder (c) in your Windows machine, then access it through the mac by going to "network," connect to, and type smb://computername/folder_name or smb://computername/c$ (or whatever letter you have your stuff on)
Took me a bit of messing with the settings to get this to work when I got my mac but this is how I did it.
Another easier alternative is to put the PC hard drive in a hard drive enclosure.
Or to burn your stuff to cds or dvds...depending how much info you got, the first two options may be best.
Good luck.
