Hi, I'm using a PB 12" and the casing on the front of the machine (above the battery and to the right of the latch) has come detached. I was wondering if I should use glue to repair it? If so, what type/brand is recommended?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Still here.
I could be wrong but doesn't it just push back in?

Can you take pics so we can see exactly what you are talking about?

Hi, thanks for the reply. It's strange as I also thought it would just push back into place. It seems to me as if there must have been adhesive binding the casing to the frame.

Unfortunately I don't have a camera - I'll try to describe it a little more - when I take out the battery to have a closer look, there seems to be two layers of casing (an inner and an outer casing) and they have now separated. I'm not sure why this has happened, but my hunch is that the heat of battery may have caused the adhesive to decay (that is, if adhesive was used)... any ideas?

I dont think that it has any glue holding the case in place, If i remember their are a few screws in the battery compartment that could have came out
but I think it should all snap back into place with a little force.

I've had my 15" PB taken apart quite extensively and the only thing holding the casing together (as far as I recall) is a several screws on the ouside of the case and also in the battery compartment, and a few clips on the inside of the case itself.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever dropped the 'book or anything to cause this seperation?

Is the case separating like this picture?

http://www.appledefects.com/wiki/index.php?title=Image:Bent_case_pb.jpg

My 12" PB (Rev B) is nowhere near like the picture, but it is slightly raised on both sides of the latch a few millimeters, nothing extreme. I do think this is somewhat common, maybe moreso in the Rev. A 12" which got ridiculously hot

The problem for me is that a partial detachment (similar to a very severe warp) has occurred on the 'bottom casing' - just right of the latch - and between the battery compartment and the 'upper casing' (where the keyboard, trackpad etc. are located).

I found a similar thread to mine (but with a less severe problem):

Hi Someguy, I've never dropped it but I suppose I'm not overly careful of it either! I'll try and get some pics of it this week (it looks kinda ugly!).
