Just put in a brand new DVD in my Powerbook, and the superdrive won't accept it by returning the DVD back to me!. Just having none of it. What the hell? The last time I used it was over a month ago, but today the superdrive refuses.

Tried over three DVD's, including a blank one, yet no avail. Has it gone potty? Or have I gone potty?

Any ideas?

Just resetted the power management and gave the superdrive a quick blow.

Now the DVD works. Very odd.

My DVD Superdrive just started acting up as well. At first it would just take the DVD almost all the way in and then start moving it in and out of the slot.

Then I PRAM'd it and it now won't even let me insert DVD's.

How did you reset power management? When you say "gave it a blow" did you actually hit it? (I might try that!)

Haha.

Shut down your computer, and remove the battery. Then hold the start-up button for 5 seconds or more. Re-connect and fire up.

I got my compressor out set up on low pressurised air, to blast the vents and the superdrive slot - by lifting up the foam. You don't even need compressor, just blow hard using your own breath, not after supper!.

Worked for me, surprisingly.
