PB g4 kernal panic error. help

Last night just lurking internet and ichat and this message comes up over my screen saying i need to restart my computer. It wont let me hit any buttons so i have to hold down the power key. so i restart it, it freezes. Let it sit over night and start it up this morning. runs for less then 3 minutes then the warning pops up and freezes again. I tried reformatting it this morning and put in the disc and left the room and came back to the message again. so i shut it off and left before i threw it through a wall.

Its a kernal panic warning so something about my os X fricked up. tried reformatting but it wouldnt let me, what should i do now.

Since you've already thrown the PowerBook through a wall, this advice might be too late, but this should serve as yet another example of why reformatting/reinstalling is not a effective way of dealing with kernel panics. Most kernel panics are hardware related. Could be bad or loose RAM, the Airport card, or the motherboard. I'd reseat the RAM and the card for starters.

its still sitting on the desk. I dont think it is the ram. I would believe it was the airport card though, a short while back i had to keep restarting my computer bc my airport would just lose all signal, but if i restarted it it would just work fine again. And then repeat that process over and over.

You could be right, but don't rule anything out just yet. I'm happy to hear that you haven't hurled the Mac yet. Please don't. I'm pretty sure it won't help.

Ya. im hoping its nothing crucial like the mother board or ram. hopefully its just the air port card or something stupid.
