PB User returning the 12pro phone

I was on the PB and when I got my new 12 pro, I had to enroll in the PB so that I could restore from a backup. Well, the battery life is less that expected compared to my 11PM and I am thinking about returning it. If I return it, should I do a DFU on it so that the iOS goes back to 14.1 or can I return it running iOS 14.2?

Theyre just going to wipe it, doesnt make any difference.

Wont invalidate the return policy.

How does the return process go for Apple.com purchases? Make an appointment to bring into the store?

Like my gray, but when I was in the store last night and saw the silver it was love at first sight.

I heard that you can walk up to the store and just return it. You don’t need an appointment. That being said, I am going to make an appt just I case.

Just restore it to 12.1 to be sure. It doesn't hurt.
