It is best to use the DP 7 full install file and set up as new. If you use DP 7 Delta to install over Public Beta 2, you won't receive updates for DP via the MAS. Also, installing on top with betas can produce unforeseen problems.
I can vouch for that... I installed DP7 over PB2, and I've been having all sorts of issues that a friend on PB2 hasn't heard of. Mission control usually decided to stop working after about a day, sometimes I get stuck in App Exposé and have to reboot, the Desktops are rearranged all the time, and just recently music controls have stopped working.

You just need to install one delta DP update, then you will get subsequent MAS updates. I Installed DP 6 delta over Public Beta 1, DP 7 appeared in MAS. No unforeseen problems here.

It isn't a good idea to mix DP with PB, just to try and get back on the DP train. It is best to do a clean install of DP 7, in my opinion. That way, if something goes wrong, you can better address it and make Apple aware, versus mixing the two and having very odd and out of the blue problems that most others don't seem to have.
DP 7 Delta was meant to install over DP 6, not PB 2. Yes, the two betas are very similar in many areas. However, they are exact and that can cause problems. Why increase the chance of that, when you can install the right beta new?
