I saw this too. Seems to be working on my end. Was stuck at around 5k of 37k before this.

Mine never did finish reporting all items processed, stop short several hundred...

One thing I notice is any of the people I named in beta 1 are now no longer named. I would not suggest spending any time on this until the final release other than playing to see how it works. iOS reset as well and removed all of the people I named. Not a big deal. More important is hoping in the future each of my devices will communicate who the people are. They share a photo library but the service is done per device.
