It should probably work well enough.

Some games need to be run with Administrator level privileges (which you can do via right click on their icon).
 
They just list what was printed on the box... the box was printed that way, so they put it on the website. Usually that happens with older software that just has older boxes :)

Just like if Windows 8 comes out and some current games printed "Windows 7" ... well they'll most likely still work on 8 too.
 
Administrator privileges should do the trick, if even necessary. If you have something from really long ago you can install an older version of DirectX. This will NOT replace DirectX 11 and everything should work fine (again, running as Administrator).
 
Dragon Age Origins runs perfectly fine on Win7.
The only recent game I've had issues with in Win7 was Fallout 3.
I did get it to run after some readings on forums tho.
