pc more efficient than mac?

ok my 5 month old pb is really starting to piss me off, its little annoying stuff like safari closing unexpectedly and lagging streams of video. you would think this new mac would be able to run heavily animated flash videos and streaming video with no prob. but what do you get??? sound that doesnt sync with the video, its ike im watching a kung fu flick!! im thinking it must be the browser, so i switched to firefox, whadaya know! same thing!!! to i pulled out my 3 yr old pc (see specs below) and it played these videos without a problem. no lagging at all! and thats my BS computer which is cluttered with BS! it probably has more viruses than a dying child. if macs are supposed to be "virus free" then why cant it keep up with my olds ass pc, i never had to verify disk, repair permissions or anything with it.

what i want to know is is it just my mac? or are you guys having the same problem. and if anyone knows how to solve it, please help!

Something is obviously busted, take it to an Apple Store and have them help you. Make sure to back up any files because they may have to wipe the system, assuming its a software problem. There are too many things to consider and I'd like to have someone who knows what they're doing lay hands on it.

The Mac is virus free, and that doesn't have anythng to do with verifying disks—Windows needs this too, hard-drives are hard-drives—nor does repairing permissions which is just a utility similar to Windows defrag. I'm assuming this might have been someone's idea of a fix, sometimes repairing permissions can 'clean-up' a system, especially after an update.

#1. Repair permissions, this can be done by opening applications/utilities/disk utility and selecting mac hd and clicking repair permissions.
#2. Download Cocktail(google for it), click the 'pilot' tab and run that. This will give you a lot better performance (hopefully)

Have you installed any ram yourself recently?

ive repaired permissions, and i havent installed ram

Verify your disk from Disk Utility (the disk, not the disk permissions) and open Activity Monitor to see if there's something taking up a lot of CPU or RAM.
