PC to new iMac migration using iPod

My new iMac 24" arrives today and I have already backed up all my files etc.. from my PC too my iPod. Now I am wondering if I can simply plug my iPod (configured for windows) into my new iMac and transfer the files from the iPod to the Mac??

Will the Mac try to format the iPod to Mac setup once I plug it in and wipe my data?

It'll ask to but you can say no and it'll still work. Congratulations on the switch!
