I did a search for this topic, but I guess I wasn't hitting the right "keywords".

I switched to Mac last August. Love it! But my work uses PC's. I am thinking of getting a laptop and I am leaning strongly for the 12"PB just for size and price. Probably just go with a refurb.

I will mostly be using Office & Macromedia Studio products.

Does anyone have any advice as to which laptop would be better (PC or Mac) in this situation.

I don't really see a reason why a PB won't suit me just fine, but before I shell out the expense I wanted to see if anyone had anything to add.

My home computer is an iMac G5 2.0 Ghz.

Work are all PC's networked with Novell.

My sister had novell on her PC from school and it we couldnt get rid of it. Its finally gone now that she did a full system deletion and restore.

No clue about Novell, sorry, but..

I have an Acer 1692 - 1.73Ghz Centrino, 128Mb X700, 1Gb DDR2 etc., good laptop, definitely faster than my 1.67Ghz PBook, but, i don't really use it unless i have to, except my nightly bedtime warcraft quest, it's heavy compared to my powerbook, clunky and it's got one of those shiny screens (ok, so that ones my fault  ) my powerbook is simply nicer to use

My experience of other PC laptops hasn't really been much better, so unless theres a major compatibility issue (the reason for my Acer) stick with Apple :)

I'm sure this was already your plan, but what the hey, a bit of encouragement can't hurt :p

Netware makes the Novell client for Macs, and it works just fine with Novell networks (I have it on my PowerBook and I have no issue accessing all the networked drives at my college).

Go with the PowerBook 12. Great little machine in a killer form factor!

Cheers,
Bill

Cool, that is what I was wanting to hear I guess.

Flash performs far, far faster in XP. I don't know if it's more comparable with the Intel Macs...
