Hi!

I have an Imacon 848 scanner. The Firewire port is broken sadly (the chip on the board I believe it is, and ppl say it's not possible to fix??? which prob isn't true but I'll have to research that another time)

I also have all three versions of classic mac pro 1,1 - 5,1 (all have stock gpu aside from 5,1 rx570 and martin lo OC on a usb running Mojave)

Is there a SCSI PCI-e card that is compatible with these, and if so what is the highest OS I can use?

I also happen to have access to a SCSI 2.0 - USB device, but it seems all of the drivers were made for classic mac OS's like Tiger etc. If I can't get a SCSI card for the mac pro, is there a way to get this 'legacy' (Idk if I'm using that word right) SCSI - USB adapter to work with mojave or any other OS that will run on a mac pro?

I’m running into the same issue, except my Epson Es800c scanner works perfectly on my old beigh G3, which has A DB25 SCSI PORT on it. I’d love to get this scanner working on my 2009 MacPro 5,1. But it seems like the SCSI pcie cards you can find, are priced higher than a new scanner would cost. And it’s a gamble that there is a compatible driver that will run High sierra. I just purchased a DB25 pci card, and will return it because there were no drivers over OSX 10.8. It was not SCSI card, but a parallel port card, which is the other port on my scanner, Centronics 36 pin. I also can’t find a parallel to USB cable that works with this scanner On my MacPro… they kinda works with my Xante accel-writer PS/3 laser printer, but I have to keep re connecting it.

That claims Mac support. Adaptec is a long time SCSI supplier and used to be supported back in the NeXT days on early intel machines. It was supported on macOS 10.3, but not clear if there would be modern support.

Also this came up:

Apparently ATTO was working under elcappitan

Much Thanks, for this information!
I'll dig a little deeper to see what other options I have.

The Adaptec 2906 card is a PCIx card, probably compatable with a MacPro G5. I need a PCIe card.
Unless someone can verify that it will also work in my MacPro 2009 5,1. All I know is I have PCIe slots, and my deceased, Mac G5 took different cards then the MacPro's.
