Hi. Is there an adapter or way to adapt PCi to PCIexpress? Some people have thousands in their peripheral equipment, graphics or audio professionals for example. We eventually need a new Mac Pro.

I found this one on the Web, I wonder if it would work for Mac?

I wonder if it would work for, say, a 2011 or 2012 Mac Pro desktop: allow us to adapt a PCI card from an older machine. Some of us have thousands in our peripheral PCI stuff.

Thanks so much for any replies. Really appreciate it.

I also was thinking about such an adapter while exploring the possibilities to get an old ADAPTEC SCSI HBA to work in the Mac Pro. in theory it should work, but I was unable to find confirmation about this anywhere. also, there's the problem with the KEXTs. do they exist for your particular PCI card or not..?

Yeah me too. I tried emailing StarTech about their PCIe to PCI adapter. There must be a way for people who've invested so much in their peripherals, all of which used PCI cards. I love Mac stuff but wish they wouldn't arbitrarily change things so often, not always for the better.

Anyone else have thoughts on PCIe to PCI adapter? Thanks for any replies.
