I have no idea if this will work in the cMP. OTOH, why shouldn't it?

https://www.anandtech.com/show/12987/msi-four-way-m2-pcie-card-it-looks-like-a-gpu

I didn't search the details for this card, but there is a high chance that this card rely on the motherboard to divide the PCIe x16 lane into four PCIe x4 lane. This may be the reason why MSI ship this card with the X399 machines.

The lack of onboard PCIe switch will make this card unusable on the cMP (at least true on the x16 slot).

There is a plethora of 4 way cards showing up that require pcie bitrifuication support.

Unfortunately using such a card can fry out a cmp logic board. I have a bricked 09 as a reminder from testing this a couple years ago.
[doublepost=1529608369][/doublepost]The HighPoint SSD1701 is a x16 pcie 3.0 card supporting 4 x8 m.2 NVMe using the 8747 Pex Plex chip.

HighPoint tech support has verified compatibility. UPS just arrived. I’m off to the bench.
