I have a mid-2010 MP 5,1, and if I understand correctly, of the 4 PCIe slots the first two (bottom two) are 16x lanes and the third and fourth (top two) are 4x lanes.
I have 4 cards to install:
1. graphics card (5770)
2. CalDigit fasta-6gu3 eSATA and USB 3.0 card
3. Sonnet SOTSAT6SSDE2 SSD card
4. ORICO PFU3-2P USB 3.0 card
I just bought #4 because the CalDigit card supports storage devices but not other things (and I want to power a USB3 hub built into my Asus monitor).
Obviously the graphics card should go into one of 16x lanes. How about the other cards? Which other one is best suited for the second 16x lane?
How do I know how many lanes a given card is capable of working with?
