After reading so many quality reviews here that have helped me make several buy decisions, I thought that I should return the favor.
After having scratching up more the one palm rest, I was looking for a cover/case that would protect the palm rest area and give me a nice looking cover/case for a business environment.
The arch nemesis of computer palm rest, the Omega watch band…
The PD Air cover provides excellent protection to both the left and right side of the MBA while still allowing full access to the ports. There is just enough leather overhanging to protect in case of a drop without being excessive.
The rear is protected by a strip of leather that holds the two halves together and the cover is held shut by a magnetic snap in the front.
When using the MBA, I fold the cover under which creates just enough of a tilt to make typing on the MBA even more comfortable then it already is.
The leather covering the palm rest does so without interfering with the keyboard area or track pad areas.
As you can see from the photos, they cover/case is quite well built, with a lot of attention to the details such as the stitching.
The case took about 3-weeks to be made and delivered, with the company sending status e-mail each week informing me as to the progress of my order. The cover arrived in a fabric slipcover packed in a presentation box.
I did have a clear Speck hard cover on the MBA prior to obtaining the PD Air cover. I have removed the Speck case since I started using the PD Air, the Speck top cover will fit with the PD Air on, the bottom may fit as well, but the PD Air was custom fit to the MBA and I did not want to force the bottom on. Having said that, since using the PD Air for the past week, I do not believe the any other case is required as the PD Air offers plenty of protection.
If you interested in the PD Air, you can go to their website at http://www.pdair.com.
