I've been contemplating the usage of the both apps and here is my personal review for use of both apps on a Windows based system
PDA.net
Pros:
Cons:
OpenSSH with iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.7
Pros:
Cons:
Net Net give or take, I'd say PDA.net has potential and is almost there if it can work out the following: In the order of my preference
1. Battery drainage should stop when plugged in. If Openssh and socks can achieve this when why can PDA.net not.
2. VPN connectivity.
3. Stable ongoing connection
PDA.net
Pros:
- Does not require any additional setup like proxifier on PC
- Has a DHCP Server which is very helpful
Cons:
- Connection is not so stable.
- Iphone looses battery power very fast even when plugged in
- VPN Connection not possible,
OpenSSH with iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.7

- Connection stays on while talking on the phone
- No IP Address/change issues as it uses tunneling to 127.0.0.1
Cons:
- Requires additional Socks proxy software.
- VPN does not work
