Can anyone confirm that PdaNet running on an iphone is working?

PdaNet and the ipad - anyone using?

From how I understand PDAnet works is that you need a program running on the computer in order to use the app properly, both Mac OS X and Windows. The reason for this maybe to properly work the drivers. I've used it with an Android device and would think it works the same on the iPhone: you turn on the PDAnet sharing app, then you go to the computer, open the program and click connect.
In this case, there is no application meant for the iPhone/iPod software to utilize PDAnet itself, only to provide data to another device. And PDAnet stresses that it needs the appropriate drivers in order to work. And we know we can't install anything, especially drivers, onto the software.
This is just my wild guess regarding this matter.

Anyone hear of a solution yet? I'd be ecstatic if I could tether with my N1. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if the folks with PdaNet come up with anything...
As long as your N1 is rooted, go to the Android market and download Barnacle. It's a wifi tether app that doesn't require any kernel modification - only a rooted device.
Works great on my Droid with my iPad.
Thanks doc. Don't really want to void my warranty, but if it's still the only solution in a month or two I'll have to consider it.
I don't absolutely need tethering, but it would be a nice luxury.
FYI, PDANet has to do with tethering your jailbroken iPhone to your iPad, Mywi is the same.
I use MyWi and I love it but my iPhone battery hates it.
iPad and PDA Net is working
I have been using pdanet with my jailbroken iphone since last fall. I seem to average between 2 to 3 gb of data usage every month and have not received any notices or increase in my bill. I recently purchased an iPhone 4G and realized that there was not yet a jailbreak for it. So, I thought that I would try to install pda net on my jailbroken iPad to see if it would work. I was surprised that it installed without a hitch. The next surprise came when i plugged the Apple USB cable into my computer and the pda desktop client (for windows 7) asked me if I wanted to connect. I chose "yes" and that is what I am using at the moment. The only problem that I'm having is that for some reason it won't let me input text on the ipad in order to register it. I'm going to contact pdanet today to see if they might have a workaround.
