im on OS 3.0 with PDANet version 1.53 on a 3GS. I've been looking for an answer with no luck. Does anyone know what's going on that I can't download anything for more than a few seconds? This goes for Youtube as well... Any help is much appreciated, Thanks!

Me as well. I can't watch any sort of streaming video for more than a few seconds before it stops downloading.

ditto, and they want us to pay for this app? cant even stream a 30 second clip from youtube

is this a recent problem??

I stream on youtube all the time with PDAnet, and dload a few mp3s too, no problem here

When I used PDANet 1.51, everything worked fine but the battery drained even when plugged into the wall. All my problems with PDANet started with the update to 1.52. When I used 1.52 with my 3G, after only a few minutes the PDANet screen would display the "WiFi not connected" page and I'd be disconnected. Sometimes I'd get lucky and it wouldn't disconnect for as long as I used it. Now, with 1.53 on my 3GS, the battery issue seems fixed but the connection stalls out when downloading large files. When this happens, PDANet still shows the "Computer connected!" screen and shows the number of bytes downloaded. I would download the carrier hack to enable official tethering, but I do not want to be caught by AT&T or possibly break visual voicemail.

According to PdaNet's twitter feed if you are using WiFi as your mode of connection then the problems have to deal with iPhone OS 3.0 and not PdaNet -- I find this hard to believe though and assume they are just trying to cover their asses.

Wifi issues causing stalled downloads?

iMac G4 PPC Tiger
iPhone 3Gs
Linksys WAP54G
PDANet 1.53

Like everyone else, I am having problems downloading anything of any size via PDANet. I can FTP (via FTP on the Go) sizable (300M) files directly to my iPhone. But no go through PDANet to my iMac.

Unlike many PDANet users, I am using a Linksys access point (WAP54G) because I never got an Airport Card. I set it up for straight forward AP mode (ad hoc,) DHCP, and "G Only" with the following non-standard options:

CTS (Clear-To-Send) Protection Mode DISABLED
Frame Burst Mode ENABLED

(But I got the same problem with both these options toggled.)

There are other tweeks on the Linksys WAP54G. Does anyone know if I can tune it to satisfy iPhone WiFi?
