PDANet, VMWare, Internet sharing FROM windows to macos

PDANet works via ad-hoc wifi thru mac os. It also works via windows but can work via USB only with windows - not mac os. With VMWare running winxp, its easy to establish connection thru PDANet via USB and internet connection is fine on the winxp side of VMWare. The question is how to get that established connection to work on the macos side? The advantage of doing this versus PDANet thru macos adhoc wifi is the USB connection doesn't kill the battery. Even with it plugged in the battery still drains via wifi.

Mac Os X already enjoys a free Tethering app called iPhonemodem zreasly. Check the sticky in this forum to find out more about it.
 
Here's what I did.

Installed VirtualBox (only because it's free) and then installed my XP guest.

Installed the trial version of Parallels - you won't be using any portion of it aside from the ethernet interfaces it installs. This part is key because Parallels networking adapters show as UP and Connected in Network Preferences.

In VirtualBox, I bound the Parallels Host-Only Networking Adapter to an interface in the windows guest.

In the windows guest, I shared the PDAnet interface (via ICS) and chose the ethernet interface that's bound to the Parallels Host-Only Networking Adapter.

Connect to PDAnet and tether in the windows guest.

Now that the windows guest is handing out DHCP addresses via ICS, the Parallels Host-Only adapter can grab an address and the Mac can now get out via the windows guest.

PdaNet with Parallels--but without VirtualBox?

I am presently planning to install the current full version of Parallels onto a new 13" Macbook Pro, and then to run Windows XP through this. I have been a quite satisfied user of PdaNet on a Windows PC with a Windows Mobile 6.1 HTC smartphone/Sprint. It would be nice, but not vital, to be able to get out through this connection from the Mac's OS X as well. I am not game to use VirtualBox, however--I need to keep things a bit simpler on this machine, and sticking to Parallels is what I seek. That said, can this same trick be accomplished?
 
MyWi works fine, doesn't drain the battery when plugged via USB and isn't as convoluted as the options presented in the previous posts.
