PDF lecture notes reviewing and sketching

Hi,

Anyone of you know if there is any app that can view pdf files such as lecture notes and can make notes or do some sketching on it?

Talk about a open ended question...

There are a load of apps that will let you view pdfs, from the dedicated pdf reader from Felaur which allows custom bookmarks and file flagging to the more general file viewers like (in no particular order) Air Sharing, Files, Mobile Files, FileMagnet, Datacase (the list goes on) but none will let you edit them or add notes to them.

Likewise, if you wnat to make notes, there are a number of text editors that provide a degree of functions over and above the inbuilt Notes; Evernote, Take a Note, Text Guru (which will read pdf as well).

I suggest you pay the App Store a visit, do a search and read the descriptions and feedback. Should help you narrow it down to what you want.

There are no such app at this time for this purpose.

Absolutely...

If note to do annotations with proper writing/typing, but for some simple sketching, is there any app like this?

There are no such app at this time for this purpose.

There is. 'Annotater,' [sic]. I find it grotesquely hackish and in fact was coming onto the forum just now to look for an alternative to it.

It has a Mac-only syncing program that syncs folders of pdfs, which is a lot less useful than it sounds, because for example, I use Papers so I can either choose to share my entire collection, or let Papers manage by author name, then sync each author separately. It turns out that one cant just sync everything shared on the computer, but instead needs to sync each folder (i.e. for me, author) separately. Furthermore, there are glaring oversights such as the syncing failing when the iPhone falls asleep, so you have to supervise your iPhone while syncing (which is an interactive process anyway by the aforementioned problem).

There's also no way, as far as I can tell, to set Annotater as a opening app for pdf filetypes (with an advanced settings app), which would be very useful, for example, when my class notes are emailed to me in PDF.
