My accountant just sent me a PDF document. I searched for text in the document (Preview and Safari); the search failed. I didn't realize that the publisher had failed to index the document before sending; I suggested to the business to index ALL their documents before sending them out.

Shouldn't PDF viewers warn you if a PDF document has no text indexing -- and all text searches will fail? It's in my muscle memory to search rather than read a document; I'd like to have some alert from the software if this shortcut isn't available. IMHO, Silently failing on the text search is just dumb.
